How it all started...
The Start
One day, WinStuff and komaru were casually chatting on Discord when, out of nowhere, they decided to create their own Linux distribution 😅. They named it Nexa Linux and based it on Arch Linux (btw). WinStuff handled the branding, while komaru planned the distro. Later, WinStuff also built what you're looking at now, the website.
16th March 2025
On 16th March 2025, the first (Dev) release of Nexa Linux was published. Finally, after 2 months of waiting...
April 2025
On March 30, 2025, the maintainers of the Nexa Linux project made a significant decision to take the next major step for the distribution. Due to ongoing issues with the old Arch Linux base, they opted to transition to an Ubuntu-based system. Although the maintainers were not particularly fond of Ubuntu, they committed to making substantial modifications. Their goal was to eliminate bloatware and create a streamlined, efficient, and clean distro. In addition, they decided to overhaul the branding, as the existing design closely resembled Debian’s. A new logo and color palette were introduced to reflect the fresh direction.
